Update 6-30-12 I shot a video of the song Geneva while at the show, I just uploaded it to youtube. its not great quality but here, enjoy.

I just got back from a really great night and concert. For those of you interested, here it is.

Coppied from Tumblr

Let me just start off by saying I HAD A FUCKING AMAZING NIGHT TONIGHT!!! I many great moment.

The first of them was seeing Russian Circles outside of the Venue. I hadn't didn't talk to them but shit they were right there. Then once they started letting people in they were walking around a bit and Mike was practicing the riff for Mledak on stage. I picked up some merch, got a T shirt, and three out of four albumss. They don't have Enter in press right now. :( It gets even better though...Here's why.

Oh yeah, that's right. Got the three CD's signed by the band. I caught Dave while he was walking around asked if I could bother him for autographs and he was happy to do it. Brian came out, signed as well and Mike was onstage so he did to. I was so excited at that point. Then I got to chat a little bit with dave, pick his brain about a few things about drumming. IT WAS AWESOME!!! I had a total fanboy moment. XD So after that the band retreated to the backroom as people started showing up. Really hope I didn't annoy them with that. They seemed like they didn't mind. Moving on.

The first band was this god awful group called DeafHeaven, and these morons must have been deaf. We suspect that they got cut short because they were sucking and no one was digging their music. A a lot of people were retreating outside, Stefan and I joining them. The music itself wasn't that bad, repetitive and boring, but it was the singer. At one point he looked like he was gonna cry and nut himself at the same time. He had that whole "My Chemical Romance" preening emo thing going on. He was just trying way to hard to seem into it. I'm glad they only played three songs before getting cut. Or maybe they needed to, either way, I'm glad it was over soon.

The next group however was a total redemption. This wonderful group from Belfast Ireland called And So I Watched You From Afar Played. And they were pretty damn good. I can see why they're on tour with RC. I'm definitely going to be revisiting their website and checking out their music more when I'm not so tired.

I don't think I really need to say much about RC, you either know how awesome they are, or you need to go check them out. The few comments I'd like to make though is...DAYUMN! I never knew a drum kit could take that kind of a pounding! Dave Turncrantz is amazing to watch live! Brian and Mike are pretty static because they need to be close to their effects. I was right there, front and center, There wasn't a damned thing in my way from seeing them. That was amazing. Never happened to me before. Here's a photo to show that now. I'll go through brighten them so they're hopefully more visible, and I'll upload them. For now, here's Dave annihilating his ludwigs and Istanbul Symbols. :)

So overall great night. One sour but brief note, quickly redeemed, got some great merch and a very memorable performance from a band I really like. My only regret was not being able to chat with the guys more, but oh well.

I highly recommend you check this band out further. :)
