Description

About the MOC
"Kun Ignasi" when translated from Turkish means "Sand Sting." Here though its all one word-"Kunignasi"

Kunignasi is the 5th part of a little(:giggle:) project I created when I realized that along with Hyderbawl , Aumangea , Tipuna , and Leebos I had four of the 6 elements in smaller characters, so I decided to fill out the team by creating a Turaga of stone, and a jungle agori, Enzi. The team is comprised of two of the three types of bionicle villager, 2 Matoran(Aumangea and Hyderbawl), two Turaga(Tipuna and Kumignasi), and two Agori(Leebos and Enzi).

I must give a small shoutout to :iconalex-darkrai: for the use of the Onewa Hordika mask as back armor/bulk because I got the idea directly from his Golem.

bio
Kumignasi is Po-turaga who became a turaga after the reforming of Spherus Magna. Being a Po-Turaga, he resides in parts of Bara Magna still left as desert regions with other Po-Matoran and Toa. As a Matoran, Kumignasi migrated to Baramagna the same as most other inhabitants of the Matorna Universe. He became a Toa many years after the reformation, by which time many other toa from the Matoran Universe had been killed or became turaga themselves. His duty was more simple, to be a protector of the Po-matoran, and to try and reverse the effects of the devolved Vorox on Bara magna with the help of the sustained un-devolved Vorox from Bota Magna and charged with assisting in this specific Agor/matoran relations formation. However Kumignasi was unsuccessful in his attempts to bring the devolved Vorox back to a state of intelligence or at least relatable states. They continued to remain beastly savages, and were thus treated like hostile rahi instead of agor. The Bota Magnan Vorox while remaining isolated became tentative allies of the Matoran/agori alliances. Kumignasi took it upon himself that the re-evolution of the Vorox was his greatest mission. Being unable to do so, he thought himself a failure as part of the legacy of toa before him, though most other's didn't hold this to be quite so true.

As a Turaga "Kumi" as he was commonly referred to lived a more quiet life, not really taking charge of things as that was mostly carried out by other toa, agori leaders or Turaga from other villages. He Settled for a life of tinkering, inventing building and creating new tools, vehicles and other such things for the betterment of Matoran and Agori as most Po-Matoran were skilled builders and crafters, Kumi was no exception.
Wanting a vehicle that could travel the vast expanses of the Bara Magnan deserts and other regions, Kumignasi invented a prototype of The Innenrrad. It was later put into full production as a commercially available vehicle by other Matoran and agori, one of which was eventually traded to Melanthios .
While test driving his own Innenrrad, Kumignasi suffered a near fatal crash when he lost control of the vehicle. The crash extensively damaged his head, and tore off his right arm. Fortunately for him, he didn't venture out alone when testing the Innenrrad's long distance capabilities and the Matoran and Agori that followed in another vehicle rushed him To Tajun where most Ga-matoran, to and water tribe agori lived. The Ga-Matoran and Turagas were skilled healers but were only able to do so much for the mortally wounded Turaga. Tipuna aided in Kumi's recovery. With her help, and his resources at his home/garage, he was able to create a working right arm, scoping eye and other various mechanical solutions to solve the problems created by his injuries. While he didn't lose sight completely in his left eye, he wasn't able to regain functionality of it, but was able to enhance the functionality of his right eye, such as man Ko-Matoran have.
Kumi's personality could be characterized as being "an oddball." After his perceived failures as a Toa, he thinks very little of himself or his abilities as a turaga or inventor, even though most regard his creations as brilliant or very helpful. While not terribly isolated, he does spend much of his time alone in his garage tinkering away on new projects, or repairing old ones. His "relationship" with technology and machinery is often regarded by other po-matoran as second to none. As a result, many of the agori who at one point weren't able to create or craft new things seek his tutelage in crafting, repairing, sculpting and inventing. Though Kumi brushes such clamor off as "intense demand with very little supply. I'm only doing what any Po-matoran would do." While initially discouraged and depressed from his injuries, and being rather "deformed" from his mechanical additions, he eventually realized they only helped him at his trade even more, becoming well adjusted and happy with his mechanical implants. "I wouldn't go back to my old form even if I could. Mata Nui himself would have to deem it necessary."[Chuckles].
Kumi's weapon/turaga staff is what he calls "Vorox's Bane," a weapon that ironically wasn't created by him. :P

What I find appealing about this Po-Turaga, is how unorthodox his design is. The only symmetrical part of his body is the torso and legs. He has a completely different design to the others you made, and what I like most about Kunignasi is his head.

His head isn't as expected, in some aspects. He has only one eye, and the scope ability of his right eye is quite correct in Bionicle canon; a lot of Ko-Matoran often did attach an eyepiece to their masks to gaze at the stars or to regain sight loss.

I also like the functionality of the robotic arm, with it having aseemingly different connection. Another point I'd like to make is how you stayed true to the colour scheme.

What I don't like however, is his legs. I know he's a Turaga, but they look a little frail. Then again, that could have been caused by his accident.

All in all, he's a nice little MOC, who isn't overly complicated, and has a good background story.
