About the MOC
Lieutenant Premod was a MOC I had roughly conceptualized when I first saw series 1 of the Star Wars Planet series. I have the Sebulba's podracer and Tatooine variant. Charade from the Soul Calibur series of video games was a big source of inspiration for Premod. He is where I got the initial "eyedea'(:iconpunfunplz:) to use the planet sphere parts as a big eyeball. The rest of Premod is simply my own take on the "giant eyeball monster" concept.

P.R.E.M.O.D. was his working title, it stands for Punk Rock Eyeball Monster Of Death. His actual name is just "Premod" The acronym was me being humorous about what to call him when explaining what he was to friends and family. First he was just an eyeball monster, once he got spiky he became a "punk rock eyeball monster," then to make the acronym more pronounceable, he became a "punk rock eyeball monster of death."

A couple of interesting facts.
Premod uses a design I tried to make work for Lord Gweeb but couldn't get to work. The main element of this design is the Hero Factory 1.0 torsos as shoulders. :iconsuccess-plz:
Premod's photo collage is made exactly the same as Gweebs, except the orientation of the photos and therefore the layout is flipped(gweebs were portrait, Premod is landscape). :D

Also, the photo of Premod chasing his eyeball is just for laughs, he doesn't actually have a problem with his eye coming out, both IRL as a MOC or hypothetically as a character. its really just to show the eye not in his body. It does pop in and out relatively easy though, which is convenient when working on the MOC. :P

Premod is an officer in Lord Gweeb's army and serves as Gweeb's right hand man. While his ranking is officially only that of a Lieutenant, Premod is a trusted ally of Gweeb's and has far more tenure and clout than even those exceeding his rank. He chooses not to be a higher ranking official because he prefers to be a combatant more than a member of the millitary and political councils. He much prefers to be be Gweeb's "will on the battle field." This is not to say that Premod is a dumb brute, he is a decent tactician and a skilled fighter. Premod prefers basic strategies and contingencies over meticulous plotting and calculating like his lord.

Premod and Gweeb came to know each other in The Pit as they were contained in adjacent cells. Besides the maintainers of the Jail, Premod is the only person to know of Gweeb prior to Gweeb's mutation by the Pit Mutagen. However neither warriors ever saw each other as they were never released from their cells and could not see each other through the walls. After the Cataclysm both prisoners were freed. In the franticness Premod escaped unharmed, while Gweeb was horribly mutated into a small stubby crustacean like creature. It wasn't until many years later after Gweeb had been found by the Barraki and rose through the ranks, eventually assembling his own army and notoriety that the two were reunited. It didn't take long before they recognized each other as their former cell neighbors and quickly allied with each other. By this time Gweeb was already establishing his on territory with its own military and government. But because Premod was still a newcomer to the organization, he wasn't made a high ranking official just yet. Premod remained content with his position and simply chose to control a small territory within Gweeb's and command what is known as the first legion-a group of highly regarded warriors loyal to Premod and Gweeb who are called upon for missions of high tactical importance.

Premod's body is very similar to Gweeb's in that it is an external mechanized suit constructed by Gweeb himself. However, Premod did not need a new body after being injured or mutated, he opted for the transformation in order to be an amphibious creature and reside in the underwater territories along with Gweeb, while still being able to traverse land. Premod is more acclimated to land and therefor land combat than Gweeb is and spends far more time on land than his lord. All of his body except for his eye which was the main part of his body was replaced. Premod communicates via a vocalizer in his mechanical body where as in his original biological form he could only communicate through a mild form of telepathy. This telepathy is only slightly enhanced so that his biological component(his eye) can operate his mechanical body. He does not possess any telepathic or telekinetic abilities strong enough to be used as attacks.

Premod's main weapons are his dual "rotary Axes." These axes are especially useful for throwing. Premod will often throw one axe one way(i.e clockwise) and counter throw the second(i.e counter clockwise) and the two axes will meet up mid flight and connect together, creating one counter rotating weapon that when struck with is a devastating attack. Besides his axes he has sharp claws and his armor on his back is incredibly thick and jagged, making it good for ramming attacks. Like most fighters, Premod can channel energy through his weapons, though he does not have any particular traits or skills with this power. He mostly relies on his axes and melee attacks in combat. Premod has no elemental energies.

Well now this'll be fun.
First off congratz on another totally mystifying moc that just might be totally unique. I haven't seen the entire span of lego mocs around, well no-one has but I've never seen anything like this before.

The use of the mini Star Wars sphere is very clever here. I certainly wouldn't of thought of it as an eye that's for sure but making that descision brought forth the overal size of the moc.
To decide to have this as a squat character based on the idea of having the planet as an eye is pretty predictable. The most logical thing was to put the eye in the centre of a 'cavity' placed within the centre of the moc which you've done here and pulled off very well. You've made good coverage overal to make sure the eye can't be seen from other angles and that the only place where you can see any of the original planet sphere is at the front.

The design of the body itself is a bit generic for the 'eyeball' monster look with it being squat and having disproportionate limbs. The arms just look too thin and the hands are quite small. I only think it partially works here. The upper arms are clearly coordinaed with the silver weapon pieces but even at this state they look sort of mish-mashed.
The legs however are much better. They are bulked up to a great level which looks like they may just support the creatures oversized torso.
The weapons are simple but I guess they do work here and as they're not the main focus of the moc it's not ,much of a disappointment really.
The overal detail of the moc is fantastic. I can clearly see how you've coordinated the pieces into the forms that they now take but even in this coordination, there still seems to be a 'messy' element there. Organised chaos would be the most apt term I can think of here. There are the rounded, defined areas such as the eye detailing and the lower arms but then you get to the surrounding eye area, the cavity if you will, and there seems to be wires and weapons and all sorts of pieces just plugged on for bulk.

Overal this moc is pretty unique even though it does show a generic/classic image of the 'eyeball monster'. But after saying that, it's very unique for someone to even make it to begin with so props on that.
Another cool creation for Dave :)

Uuuugh.....OK, this is gonna be a tough one. You know that feeling when you look at something and aren't entirely sure what it is until 10 minutes after? Well, that's the feeling I get when I look at this, which makes it kind of hard to critique. I'll go back and explain this later, because I want to get to some other things about this first.

Yes, the idea of a giant eye with a bunch of limbs sticking off of it is kind of cool. However, it would be more cool if the eye actually looked like an eye. It looks more like a corroded potato with a hand grabbing onto it. This could have been fixed with some paint, but nope. Corroded potato.

The feet look like a bunch of feet jammed together with a lame-ass heel spur. I don't care if the heel spur works if it looks that bad. It may work in toy form, but if this were a real hulking monster, this guy would tip over at the drop of a hat due to them snapping like kitkat bars under a truck.

The spikes on top of the thing all look like they would snap as soon as he hit anything harder than a brick wall. So how is this guy expected to charge at anything?

What I'm about to say might seem like two of the most petty complaints of all time, but fuck it. The font is incredibly ugly. It's hard to read, and just looks like Satan puked from a pen.

The posing is uninspired, which might have something to do with this guy being too bulky to actually pose decently.

Those last two complaints were ridiculously petty, but I put them in anyway, because anything that can be improved should be listed.

Now, here's the part where I generally say a few nice things before delivering the final blow with a wooden stake. The fact that the eye actually stays in the thing is commendable, it actually looks stable, which is good, the ideas are somewhat creative, and there's lots of detail on the thing, so I can't fault it for looking plain. Now, remember what I said in the beginning, about it being hard to tell what exactly this thing is?

You see, there's so much detail, that it looks like a hideous mess. The thing is overflowing with blades, spikes, armor chunks, and random greebling that never really goes anywhere. It makes the thing hard to look at, and it took me over 10 minutes to actually see anything but a cluttered mess in this thing. You may say that this was intentional to make it look "punk." Well, if this were actually punk, it wouldn't look so much like a mechanical porcupine potato monster from the fifth dimension.

So yeah, if all of those flaws were fixed, I would deem this kind of epic.

Sometimes when I want to buy pieces for my Bionicle mocs I look at lego sets(the planet in the middle of its chest) and I say "Nah, that won't be of use", but then when I look at stuff like this I say at the top of my lungs"EBAY!!!".

:lmao: Thank you, that gave me quite a laugh. There's also Bricklink. Its a very useful site for getting exactly what you want. Ebay is the carpet bomb. Covers a wide area, but you don't really fully know what you're getting, or in this analogy, what you're blowing up. Bricklink is the laser guided missile though. You know exactly what you're getting because you hand pick the order from the seller's inventory. It takes some getting used to the site navigation, but its a useful tool to any serious MOCer.

 A lot of people have found uses for those, especially the system MOCers. I have at least two more MOCs I'd like to do if i could get my hands on more of these(of the various types). I've seen the space ship MOCers use them as like escape pods or fuel tanks, I've seen the architecture guys use them for domes in buildings like you see in a lot of middle eastern architecture. Then there's this guy who's used them as actual heads....and those eyes, they're held on by magnets wedged into the tires and on on the inside of the sphere. These aren't hard to use really. But I appreciate your enthusiasm and all the love, the comment, faves and watch. Thank you.

I have the death star and tatooine. Maybe they would be good outer shells to do something similar to your hydrebawl dude

They could be. I've been wanting to get two of the lower halves of the death star, the part without the dent because I wanna make this guy.
