About the MOC Kūtūmah(Pronouncee Khoo-Too-Mah) is a cultural amalgamation of a Tiki/Hawaiian god, Maori god, Native American Totem poles as well as kinda resembling a Japanese Tengu. The strongest influences though are the Polynesian cultures, Hawaiian and Maori. Kū is one of four main gods in Hawaiian mythology. He is their God of War. I'm also going with Hawaiian cultural references with his weapon, a spiked club. It is said Hawaiian warriors, the Koa would often use spiked clubs made from sharks teeth or stone. And since I had these Stronius club parts I figured it'd be a good fit. Tūmatauenga is the Maori equivalent to Kū. Tumataunga is also mostly who I'm basing Kūtūmah's personalities or tendencies on. Tuma...where have we heard that name in a warrior like character before? Lastly I'm culling inspiration from the Ethiopian god Maher_{(Mostly because Kūtū was too short and I needed another syllable)}. After this I cross the line from Tiki totems into more Native American Totems by presenting multiple faces in a vertical line. The Japanese Tengu didn't have any real influence here. I just think that Kūtūmah's face ends up resembling those as well. the idea there was strictly Tiki gods/Tiki masks though.

Building the MOC
Kūtūmah was initially inspired by ~welcometothedarksyde's Bruiser The red Onua Nuva mask really stood out to me and after looking at it for a bit I noticed that it looked rather similar to a tiki mask, That's where the idea to do something "tiki" came from. I initially was going to build a little MOC using the mask with googly eyes, but then I got what is basically this idea, a large tiki mask with a totem pole body. The rest was execution. I built the mask/head first and this was the result on the first try. The body however proved very difficult. I went through several failed designs before I came to this. Purchasing a Core Hunter proved to be just what I needed to get me out of design gridlock. I then spent the next two days building the bulk of him, then tweaking the designs and filling in small gaps.
Overall I'm incredibly satisfied with this MOC, Aesthetics, color distribution, structure, all are really satisfactory. Kūtūmah is pretty stable to. I was almost able to get him to stand on one leg. But the feet are too rounded on the sides. I don't think there's much I would need to do to improve this MOC. I'm happy with everything that's in my control. Washers and pins in black and red would be nice, but lego dropped the ball big time when its come to common parts color availability

Bio
I don't have much of a bio for him. More like a personality description.

Kūtūmah is somewhat an obnoxious mean-spirited individual. As a god of war he can be vindictive, manipulative to turn people against each other, and loud as he likes to chant war chants and play war drums(which I should probably make for him). He's basically your typical war deity but with a flair for music and theatricality. He's not all bad though. he rewards hard work, skill and loyalty to authority above all else. He would much rather see a tribe fight another tribe in all out war than to see a tribe squabble amongst itself. For this reason he mostly coerces village leaders into fighting and punishes those why betray their superiors.

If Kūtūmah were part of the bionicle universe he'd obviously be a Makuta. Other than that I don't really know.
